This study examines public opinion in the Napoleonic era in the area between Rhine and Maas (1810�). Pierre Horne uses a transnational approach to analyze local approval and rejection of the Napoleonic règime, thereby making a major contribution to reconciling French, German, Belgian, and Luxembourgian historiography.
