Il est connu pour son travail la fdration de lutte amricaine, la World Wrestling Federation, et il est considr comme l'un des plus grands lutteurs de l'histoire. Mort en 1993, il est titre posthume le premier homme tre introduit au Hall of Fame de la WWF peu de temps aprs son dcs.
