Newell Convers Wyeth (1882- 1945), better known as N.C. Wyeth was an american painter and illustrator. During his lifetime he painted upwards of 3,000 pictures and illustrated over 100 books. From the early age of 20 his first commissions were for stories in prominent American periodicals including McClure's, Outing and Scribner's Magazine.
