The Final book in the "Comrades of the Cross Series." As a Levite boy Phannias has been raised to be a strict keeper of the law. But he is devastated when he first feels the crushing blow of his inadequacy. At the same time he sees glimpses of hope in the possibility that the Messiah has actually come.
