My Birding Adventures with God

This is the story of Sam, a lonely Minnesota farm boy, who dreams of one day becoming a wildlife biologist. Isolated by a demanding father and longing for acceptance by his peers, he begins college only to be swept into the drug and war protesting culture of the times. After a stint in Vietnam, Sam receives Christ and begins his family. To provide for that family, he sets aside his love of nature and resigns himself to earning a living confined to a medical laboratory. But God was not finished with Sam’s dream. Returning to college to complete his degree, Sam signs up for an ornithology class. Soon, binoculars in hand, he takes to the field in pursuit of God’s beautiful winged creatures. There in the midst of creation, God meets with Sam to share the joys of nature and to heal the pains of life’s sorrows.
