Heart Talks on Holiness

Samuel Logan Brengle shares his deepest thoughts on the topic of spiritual holiness and the ultimate triumph of Christian goodness over sin.
As a senior commissioner of the Salvation Army, S. L. Brengle was in a superb position to witness both the best and worst in humanity. Purposing his decades of tireless work with the organization as inspiration, Brengle authored several books which discussed and encouraged the values of reflection and sincerity in Christians.
This work, Heart Talks on Holiness, was published while Brengle was in the midst of his career as an officer in the Salvation Army. The initial chapters establish what Holiness is and is not, followed by a list of benefits of what Brengle terms a 'clean heart', and what the consequences which keeping such a heart are for Christian believers.
After establishing the nature of holiness, Brengle continues by discussing a series of poignant examples that further illustrate the holy. Chief among these is the Biblical figure of Paul, and the Lord Jesus Christ. Exclaiming that truly knowing Jesus is an amazing and worthwhile thing that is uniquely beneficent to all, Brengle lays out a compelling case for a mindful observance and knowledge of the holy.
