About the Author\nZuzana Palovic
Zuzana is the daughter of Slovak emigrants. Born behind the Iron Curtain, her family fled the communist regime as political refugees to become naturalized citizens in Canada. She grew up in the 'New World', an ocean away from Slovakia, but she never forgot her roots. That is why Zuzana decided to return and make Slovakia her home.
Curious about the world, Zuzana spends much of her time discovering it. She has lived in 10 countries, across 4 continents and wrote much of this book in faraway India!
Zuzana is the founder of the NGO Global Slovakia and a four-time published author.
Gabriela Bereghazyova
Gabriela was born and raised in Slovakia. This is where she attended primary school, as well as university. After she graduated, she decided to explore the world. Gabriela worked and lived across Europe and the Middle East gathering valuable knowledge, skills and experience along the way.
However exciting life abroad was, Gabriela missed Slovakia and chose to return to her homeland to apply what she learnt abroad to help Slovaks appreciate who they are and how incredible their country is. Gabriela is a published author of three bilingual books, the co-director of the NGO Global Slovakia and is active in promoting Slovakia abroad and educating Slovak civil society at home.
