On the occasion of his 50th birthday party, Ted Tresh, a veteran advertising executive, is called upon to save his college-aged son from a toxic relationship that threatens his education, his well-being, and his future happiness. Sensing that his direct advice may be met with skepticism by his love-sick son, Ted delves deep into his teenage memories of misguided loyalty, jealousy, and longing to lead his son to draw his own conclusions as to what constitutes a loving relationship versus a destructive one. Set in the rebellious late 1960s and early 1970s, Ted’s stories are shaped by the military draft, the war in Vietnam, segregation, bussing, and the once-rapidly-changing social values of the Baby Boomer generation.
