The Interpreter’s War: Marine Special Operations in Afghanistan

Being an Interpreter is very different from being in the military. He can be in the thick of battle raging in a Taliban stronghold, shoulder to shoulder with American Marine special forces, yet he is without weapons or night goggles. He must be aware at all times to identify Taliban spies and attends top secret meetings in his Interpreter role. In spare hours he befriends impoverished villagers and helps improve their lives.
