Carnival

Carnival serves as a testimony of Wise's fears and how they've shaped her. Throughout the book, Wise reveals pieces of herself and the world she lives in by harnessing raw, honest, and sometimes humorous elements from her experiences. Wise compares most of the world, or what she knows of it, to a circus carnival; the clowns and masked people, the rides and attractions, the hopes and fallacies that tell us we are all happy.
