Last Man Screaming (The Joel Stuart Adventures)

Outside El Paso in 1899, Chief Blackthorn enlists the aide of aging Confederate Joel Stuart to retrieve a lost tome of evil. Sent into Juarez, the one armed former guerilla Stuart searches for the vintage copy of NAMELESS CULTS stolen by notorious bad-man Jesus Bravo. He finds Bravo a puppet of the Preacherman, an alien grown into this reality via forces unleashed from NAMELESS CULTS. Joel also meets Adam Von Juntz, the nephew of the Black Bible¿s author Frederich, also in search of his family legacy. Duped by the Preacherman, Bravo seeks only greater riches and asks Joel to join him on his quest. Joel sees that Bravo has bred hundreds of women, thus fathering his own family to an insane degree. The Preacherman is the conduit for a greater force seeking a return to the world, a female satyr called Shub-Niggurath. The Preacherman plots to poison many with peyote and turn others into plant creatures as just an opening slavo on the human race. Surrounded by dire forces seeking a foot hold on this world, Joel and his companions, Father Anthony and Raven, granddaughter of Chief Blackthorn, battle unearthly forces and their own fears. Although aided by Von Juntz, can Joel trust a man rabid to attain the book himself? Can Joel overcome the ruthless denizens of Juarez and foil of the plots of the Preacherman and ultimately, the manifestation of Shub-Niggurath and her babies growing by proxy in a ward of pregnant Bravo women?
