Originally patented in 1884 by Orange Jull, the Rotary Snow Plow was a keyinnovation that allowed American railroads to operate throughout the wintermonths. The first rotary plow was built by the Cooke Locomotive Co. of New Jersey and successfully tested by the Union Pacific in 1887. Cooke Co.was eventually bought by the American Locomotive Company, the nation’ssecond-largest builder of steam locomotives. This replica brochure includes a short history, operating information and rules. It dates to about 1907.
