A Collection of Prayers

Moses told the Israelites, "In the morning you shall say, 'Would that it were evening!' And at the evening you shall say, 'Would that it were morning!' because of the dread of your heart." We feel that way some days. The prayers in this book ask God to hear our pleas for help with disappointments when others let us down . . . hurt when words are harsh . . . forgiving when we don't want to . . . feeling alone when we lose our way . . . attitudes that spoil the day for those around us . . . everyday struggles. Others remind us of our hope in Him and His grace and forgiveness. There are prayers of praise and thanksgiving, for wisdom and direction, and prayers for blessings. The blessings of God's daily care for us may especially shine through if we read them aloud as they were first given in a worship setting and may provide us with an even greater understanding of their message for our own devotional time.
