Throwaway Boy

Nadine, a brilliant high school student, is ridiculed and bullied by her classmates because she comes from the "holler" where the poor people live. To add to her life's burden, she is abused by her violent father who shows up occasionally in her family's life to torment and terrorize her, her mother and little brother Squirrelly. When her father kidnaps her and and sells her to a brother, she desperately thinks of a way to escape. Her mother and her best friend always encouraged her to trust in God. She now feels it must take a miracle for her to fully believe.
