Letters to the Ephesians and Timothy: Guidance for the Church and Its Leaders
Description:
FROM THE BACK COVER:
The Letters to the Ephesians and Timothy have more than one thing in common, but perhaps the most important is that all three letters deal with the church and the church's leaders. Studying these three letters together provides an opportunity to focus particularly on the role of the church and the church's leaders.
The Letter to the Ephesians is rich in content. It begins with a broad, majestic view of what God has done in Christ, making special application to what this means for the church (Ephesians 1-3). It continues with directions for how the church is to live in the real world in response to what God has done (Eph. 4-6).
Although 1 and 2 Timothy are different in character from each other, each in its own way provides instructions for Christian leadership. The emphasis of each is on care for the church's welfare. The lessons from 1 and 2 Timothy about caring for the church as church leaders complement the lessons from Ephesians on the nature and mission of the church.
