Strawberry Rose

Rose is nine years old-almost ten-when she spends her first summer without her parents at her grandparents' lakeshore cabin. Along with their cherished dog, Goose, Rose makes a new lake friend, and they go on many adventures together. From apple and berry picking, to hiking, swimming, a huge dust storm, and a brush fire-every day is full of challenges and surprises. Rose, along with the support and love of those around her, shows responsibility and discovers courage on her journey to independence.
