STREET OF SECRETS is the story of a special place in a Northern city where people lived during a time when political correctness was unheard of, and severe prejudices were held about anyone different from one's own race, nationality, and religion. With the advent of World War II and specifically with the attack on Pearl Harbor, the barriers between nationalities and religions began to disappear. Families lived in enclaves of their own nationalities, clinging to the security of the familiar. It usually took several generations for them to venture out of their safety zone. The attack on Pearl Harbor hastened that change, giving rise to the slogan The Great Melting Pot. The story centers on children coming of age when the country was at the brink of war. It's about rebellion, secrets, and forbidden love, as they try to free themselves from their parents' strict control. The attack on Pearl Harbor brings both sacrifice and redemption.
