George has an extensive record of service to veteran and military organizations. George has been a Master Mason since 1954, is a Knight Templar, a member of the American Legion, and a Life Member of the Disabled American Veterans. Additionally, George has authored two works of Christian fiction "DAY OF INDIGNATION" (1996) and "MIRACLE AT ST. LUKE'S" (2002 George has been hospitalized in eight different VA Medical Centers 26 times of the almost past 70 years. He is a diabetic, suffers from hypertension, has a non-malignant brain tumor, a complex partial seizure disorder, a prosthetic left eye, serious renal failure, severe stenosis in his lower back, and neuropathy in both legs and feet. He is 100% disabled and current method of transportation is a power wheelchair. In May 2014, George became a resident of the Trinka Davis Veteran’s Community Center in Carrollton GA.
