Traveling to Marshall: Led by the Spirit in the North Carolina Mountains
Description:
This nonfiction book celebrates a unique North Carolina community, a community which has produced political leaders, soldiers, professionals, artists—including, musicians, painters, writers, craftsmen—educators and many other notables. The book focuses on the passage of time in a small town and the meaningful intertwining of the lives of individuals. The author interviews many people of Marshall (the recordings of which have been placed in the holdings of the Appalachian Room Special Collection at the Renfro Memorial Library, Mars Hill College, Mars Hill, North Carolina). These are interlaced with the author’s reflections regarding the place of those memories in the prior development and current vibrancy of the town.
