Tooby's California Post-Conviction Relief for Immigrants

This book contains the greatest collection of legal information concerning the immigration consequences of the many different forms of California post-conviction relief from criminal convictions, and how to obtain them. Three new valuable appendices have been added to this new edition: 1. Appendix A gathers about 50 different (mostly constitutional) grounds for vacating convictions based on guilty or no contest pleas gleaned from nearly 40 years of legal practice in this area. It serves as a useful checklist and beginning point for research 2. Appendix B contains recent developments from 2002-2009 concerning the immigration consequences of California expungements, and how to obtain them, have been gathered in an Update at the end of the Appendix. 3.Appendix C consists of recent developments in effective orders vacating convictions, which are also included in an Update at the end.
