This is a unique volume that pairs 100 traditional Chan (Zen) stories retold by Venerable Master Hsing Yun with 100 paintings that beautifully capture the flavor of traditional Chan art. To make ancient Chan stories more accessible, Venerable Master Hsing Yun has written commentaries at the end of each story to elucidate the meaning of difficult gongans (koans) and gathas (verses).
