My challenge was the limited amount of information that existed for me in my quest to become a great employee. Sure, there were rows upon rows of how-to and effective-practice books aimed at middle and upper management. A million different strategies and concepts screamed their catchphrases from the bookshelves, but there was not one book written that showcased how to become a great employee. This didn’t make sense. Why use all that shelf space to educate 5% of the business population on how to maximize their returns, yet devote zero shelves to educating 95% of the workforce on their side of the equation?
