Mostly Magnets

Magnetism has always held a fascination for young and old alike, probably because it seems almost magical in its unseen effects. Since magnetism has so many everyday applications in life, students need to learn about it as a legitimate area of physical science, rather than a novelty. Through the use of these activities, students will learn about: the interaction of magnets with other materials (attraction/no attraction), the interaction of magnets with magnets (attract/repel), magnetic fields (including Earth's magnetic field), magnetic compasses, and electricity and magnetism.
