Patient Evangelism: Reaching the Multitudes One at a Time

Don't let the title scare you. This is not another sterile formula for evangelism. Patient evangelism is based on the loving example that Jesus modeled for us when he encounterd the woman at the well in John chapter 4.

Simply stated, "patient evangelism" is a method of evangelism, which comprises ninety percent listening and ten percent sharing. In order to make it easy to remember the five main points of patient evangelims, Lloyd uses the acronym S.H.A.R.E, which stands for:

Senstive to the Spirit: This is the most important factor in any ministry undertaking.

Help build a brige: We need to show people that we care. We do this by reaching across those barriers that divide us.

Arouse desire: People are drawn to the truth by their own desire to know, not our desire to tell.

Reveal sin: Before a person can really appreciate the Savior, they need to acknowledge their sin.

Explain the plan of salvation: Stay focused. Remember you have something to offer them--the love of Christ.
