The Lost Truth

Wildly imaginative and impossible to imitate, Mike Pesko's THE LOST TRUTH dares to explore forms of narrative and workmanship that would scare away lesser authors. At once a postmodern comment on overwrought fictitious superstructure and a refreshingly candid exercise in military guesswork, THE LOST TRUTH does not need such pedestrian conventions as "logic", "cohesion" and "character development"; it exists beyond and outside of such archaic formulae and has no need of them. Instead, the typical tripartate structure is pruned of "commerce" and "craft" in order to show us the raw, unfettered and possibly dangerous core of human creativity and innovation. Pesko's writing, much like his Duskhunian General Fletcher's military operations, eschews all possible qualitative distinctions in favor of product based purely on faith in a reductive neo-medieval form of intelligent design. The result is an astonishing journey into the eye of neocon insularity, something I believe timely enough to warrant immediate purchase and absorption. Fiction this startling, this honest comes along once in a great long while, and cannot afford to be missed.
