Lovers & Strangers is a collection of thirteen stories, rockets through the complexities of love, internal struggle, and human relationships with a sense of wound and wonder. The title story explores the deepness of what love truly is. Throughout these looks at love, the narrative voice combines sharp, scenic detail with summary density. The tone is reminiscent of Sherwood Anderson and Bernard Malamud. Tracey’s characters are authentic, quirky, loving, innocent, and bound to truth by the universal desire to understand what makes us human, what it means to love, and be loved.
