Clem Attlee

Clement Attlee was a remarkable politician and served as Britain's (arguably) most successful Labour Party Prime Minister from 1945-51. It is time he was re-examined, and, for the first time, by someone from the generation whose lives his government affected radically. Each time he is re-examined, he seems to emerge as a greater Prime Minister, and a more complex and interesting man, than was previously thought.
