The Skeena: River of Destiny

This is the sixth edition of a book that has celebrated the pioneer spirit of the northern ?BC coast and Skeena River watershed since it was first published in 1958 as a part of a Prince Rupert, BC, centennial project. The book's success can be attributed to both Dr. Large's easy style and the wonderful sagas surrounding this waterway. This edition features updated footnotes by historian Kenneth Campbell. The Skeena is a story of magnificent individuals, daring deeds, conquests and failures. The land, the people, and their common destiny are captures in the author's personal spirit and words. Having practiced in Bella, Bella, Hazelton, Port Simpson, and Prince Rupert, Dr. Large knew many of the pioneers first hand and has crafted a timeless perspective on the region's history.
