Dearly Beloved

Dearly Beloved recounts how in 1973, 20-year old Susie Secant, a beautiful madcap from the Main Line, fell in love with Phil MacPherson, a serious Princeton senior. The form of Dearly Beloved is reminiscent of the great Japanese film classic, Rashomon, since each chapter presents the reader with eight different and evolving perspectives of the upcoming wedding. Unlike Rashomon, all questions are answered or resolved in the course of the wedding ceremony but in several ways that will surprise the reader.
