From Court to Caravan: Chinese Tomb Sculptures from the Collection of Anthony M. Solomon

The catalog to an exhibition at the Arthur M. Sackler Museum at Harvard U., this attractive volume includes a lengthy essay on Chinese tomb sculpture, written by Bower, an independent scholar. Most of the volume contains full-page color plates of Solomon's extraordinary collection, with pieces from the Han through the Tang dynasties. A checklist lists the descriptive name of each work, its materials, period, and date, the latter verified with a thermoluminescence test.
