Only human

Michael Riley's column "Only Human" began appearing in the Home News Tribune in 1990. In the decade that followed, his work won first prize in both the Society for Professional Journalists and the New Jersey Press Association competitions.Mike became a full-time staff writer for the Asbury Park Press in 1998. His column appears in newspapers throughout the country.He continues to preach in various churches, and has given speeches on journalism to groups as varied as local women's clubs and The New York Times Newspaper Group Metro Editors.
