A Traveller's Narrative: Written to Illustrate the Episode of the Bab

This is one of the earliest and most important volumes of Bahá'í history published in English. Originally published in 1891, the main body of the book is Browne's translation of 'Abdu'l-Bahá's own history of the Báb and his religion. It is the only translation of this work that has ever been made. In addition, Browne himself—perhaps the foremost scholar of Bahá'í history in the West—provides use with the results of his research in the form of hundreds of notes and dozens of essays on the history of the Bahá'í religion. Included is important information on Bahá'u'lláh's family, on Táhirih (Qurratu'l-'Ayn), on the Báb's last moment, on the massacre of believers in Tehran after the attempt on the life of the shah, and so forth.
