Uncompahgre Country

Uncompahgre Country tell the stories of the towns and the people of the area drained by the Uncompahgre River and its adjacent lands - a vast area that includes 14,000 foot peaks, thick evergreen forests, fertile irrigated valleys and desert wastelands. Rockwell not only describes the land, but the towns and the people who inhabit this colorful area of Western Colorado. Many of the towns are now gone but the author emphasizes not the past but a way of life.
