Day by Day with Mary
Description:
When Pope John Paul II proclaimed the Marian Year in 1990, editor John E. Rotelle. O.S.A., published an anthology of texts which highlighted the role of Mary throughout the ages. He tried to include a sample of the major writers of each century so that the reader could see the same line of thought from century to century as well as the diversity of expression. At that time Brother Rotelle was taken with the richness of texts and decided to prepare a daily reader of excerpts of texts on Mary. This is the origin of this book, in which he strove to present 366 authors to demonstrate how the Blessed Virgin Mary captivated people of all epochs. This anthology includes a great variety of texts, such as dogmatic texts, poetry, hymns, prose, etc. They express Mary's role in salvation history with a variety of emphasis and the richness of expression.
