St. Dominic's Parish, Washington, D.C.: A Sesquicentennial Celebration

This richly illustrated title celebrates the 150-year history of St. Dominic's Church, the only Dominican parish in the nation's capital and the city's sixth oldest Catholic church. Over the years worshippers have included members of both houses of Congress, President Lyndon B. Johnson (his daughter Luci was a convert), and the "First Lady of American Theater" Helen Hayes, who grew up in the parish and sang in the choir. The volume won the Morris J.MacGregor Award from the Catholic Historical Society of Washington.
