Pikes Peak - Above the Clouds

Pikes Peak and the Colorado Front Range sit poised above the eastern plains in such a way that it is not uncommon for weather systems of cold air to push up against the base of the range, leaving Colorado Springs at the base of Pikes Peak occasionally experiencing a gray, dreary day, while just a few thousand feet higher the skies are clear and the sun shines brightly. These conditions, called upslope, have been a boon for award-winning photographer, Todd Caudle. Photographing Pikes Peak rising above a sea of clouds has been a decades-long passion for him, and this book is but a small sampling of the thousands of photos he has amassed on the subject. While by no means the only subject of the book - some stark before-and-after comparisons of the results of the devastating Waldo Canyon Fire are included - it is the book's primary subject.
