Description:

Asklepieion Books, a new imprint of the Intermundia Press, LLC, is pleased to announce the release of THRIVING THROUGH DEVASTATING ILLNESS, by Charles Maynard, D.O. Refreshingly candid, Dr. Maynard's personal story of being overexposed to x-ray radiation provides the backdrop for this sensitively written book. You will learn about types of devastating illness; dealing with insurance companies, hospitals, doctors, as well as family and friend; and you will get a doctor's perspective on pain, death, and one's relationship with God, all of which point us in the direction of thriving rather than merely surviving. ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Charles Maynard, D.O., is a native New Mexican. He received his BA in psychology from Texas Christian University and his doctor of osteopathic medicine and surgery from the Western University of Health Sciences/College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific. Following a number of years in practice in a variety of settings, Dr. Maynard had to retire because of illness. He currently makes his living as a radio news reporter, actor, director, and public speaker. He lives in Santa Fe with his wife, Laura, and his Yorkie, Stanley.
