Everette Raymond Kinstler's portraits of Ronald Reagan, John Wayne, Jimmy Cagney, and Katharine Hepburn may be familiar to art lovers, but few realize that he honed his craft as a high school dropout, inking and sketching comics for pulps like Dime Mystery.
