Frogskin and Muttonfat: A Mystery

The Barlow, the Chicago editor of Western True Adventures, returns to Wyoming to interview Kid Corcoran, Last of the Old Time Bandits. The 82-year-old Corcoran, just released from prison, has returned to his home, supposedly to end his days in peace.

Thea takes a cautious liking to him and tries to defend him from the resentful towns people, who are convinced he's there to retrieve a stash of jade that was stolen from the mines and local residents. When a body turns up, Thea is caught up in a maelstrom of greed, murder and revenge that nearly ends her own life.
