Preparation for Adolescence - Growing Together through the Middle Years (8 to 12 years old) (Growing Kids God's Way)

Preparation for Adolescence is the logical extension of Growing Kids God's Way and provides a preparatory middle years teaching. Rightly meeting the small challenges of the middle years reduces the likelihood of big challenges in the teen years. The period between 8-12 finds children in 3 major transitions--moral, biological, and social. The middle years are the first phase in the transition from dependence on parents to the self-reliance of adulthood. This transition must be accompanied by patience, understanding, and plenty of parental faith in the belief that He who has begun a good work in you will continue it in your children.
