A comparison of violin playing techniques: Kato Havas, Paul Rolland, and Shinichi Suzuki

During the mid-twentieth century three seminal figures in basic violin teaching-Kato Havas, Paul Rolland, and Shinichi Suzuki- emerged. These three had considerable influence in expanding and improving early instruction on the instrument. Each one contributed much to raising the competency level of violin pedagogy and performance.
