Olompali, in the Beginning

Over a thousand years ago, the Coast Miwoks first inhabited what is now known as Marin and Sonoma Counties in California. Many of the Miwok settled at Olompali, the present site of Olompali State Historic Park. By 1400 A.D. Olompali had become the largest trading village in the area. Miwok culture was rich in tradition.
