The Art of Rejection by Arthur Gonzalez

There are few people willing to admit to personal rejection. Yet this is precisely what the artist Arthur Gonzalez chooses to do to deal with in his exhibition "Sour Grapes". Of course, dealing with issues is what artists do, and each one finds and defines that mission in their own way. Gonzalez uses his accumulation of 25 years of rejection letters as a stepping stone---to enliven our spirit and remind us that most of what we see, hear, and read is often sanctimonious, perfunctory, and certainly not a measure of who we are and can become.
