A Technical Framework for Life-Cycle Assessment

The ins and outs—or inputs and outputs—of life-cycle inventory are the subject of this diagram-packed book. Developed during a SETAC workshop that involved participants of various backgrounds, the technical framework covers many inventory components: raw materials and energy; manufacturing, processing, and formulation; distribution and transportation; use-reuse-maintenance; recycling; and waste management. Research and technical considerations necessary to advancing the LCA framework into impact and improvement analyzes are also documented.
