Part Woody Allen, part Tobias Wolff, this work celebrates the weird, uproarious relatives that most people pack away in the back closet like old sweaters. The Lidz brothers were (and two still are), admittedly, odd--though oddly sane in ways that helped a lonely boy through the lingering illness and death of his mother, and helped counteract the bantering denial of the fifth Lidz, his father.
