Double Trouble

As children reach mid-elementary school age, they begin to turn their attention outward toward their peers and focus on fitting in and belonging. When Luis cheats during a soccer game, his teammates don't want to play with him anymore. He tries to feel strong and important by hanging around two of the toughest kids in school. To be accepted by them, Luis begins to copy homework, lie, brag, steal, bully, smoke and drink beer. He feels cool until things go wrong and he winds up in trouble. This book focuses on the consequences of misbehavior. (Grades 3-4)
