Little David Had No Fear

Little David Had No Fear is the true story of the boyhood years and adult achievements of William Grant Still (1895-1978), one of the most important composers of the 20th century. It is the story of a boy who grew up in Arkansas, and through strict parental discipline, early musical influences and experiences, and a healthy remembrance of the sights and sounds of his childhood home of Little Rock, would later become recognized as the "Dean of Afro-American Composers." Like the boy named David who healed the biblical King Saul with his music, William Grant Still sought to heal, inspire, and promote interracial understanding with his music.
