A very readable, entertaining account of the unexpected African adventures of a woman whose well-to-do New York and California background contrasts intensely with the bush country of Kenya and Tanzania. An ample parade of colorful ex-pats, corrupt bureaucrats, and a mixed bag of appealing local characters enliven fascinating tales, leaving one wishing for more.
