Churches and Chapels: Investigating Places of Worship

A practical handbook for studying the history and development of a church building, including those which have been converted to secular use. Emphasis is placed on analysing and understanding the standing structures, as well as studying the furniture, fittings and fabricof the building in an attempt to determine its function. Three fully illustrated case studies are explored: All Hallows, Bardsey (West Yorkshire), St. Luke, Gaddesby (Leicestershire) and St. Mary, Melton Mowbray and St. Bartholomew, Snarestone (Leicestershire).
