Description:
The Walton Basin is located in the Welsh borderland in an area long-held to be of considerable archaeological significance. This forms the report of survey and excavations, the finds, artefact analysis and palaeoenvironmental evidence. Archaeological evidence has been recovered spanning the Mesolithic to Roman periods, although this study concentrates on the excavation of the Neolithic settlement at Upper Ninepence and a number of trial excavations at other Neolithic sites, including two palisaded sites at Hindwell.
